mute poem (for entangled reading)

film by Paula Caspão

MUTE POEM is a condensed materialization of a long term process of experimental collective reading that happened in the frames and folds of Noa & Snow. This is to say, Mute Poem took shape in the interstices of multiple partial readings, pre-readings, re-readings, un-readings, and mis-readings of beloved texts and images, as they played their ways hanging out with us: Alix Eynaudi, Quim Pujol, Paula Caspão, Joachim Hamou, Valentina Desideri — in the textile company of Kathleen Stewart, Saidiya Hartman, Tina M. Campt, Lauren Berlant, Nathalie Quintaine, Jason Pine, Fred Moten, Stefano Harney, Anne Boyer, Françoise Vergès, le col de la Barboteuse, Giulia Palladini, Ariella A. Azoulay, Natassja Martin, Avery Gordon, Eloghosa Osunde, Susan Lepselter, Laurie Anderson, Pipilotti Rist. Mute Poem's ghosts loitered for months with-in and with-out the walls of many studios, living rooms, kitchen tables, gardens, and apéro zooms, until they found their first mode of apparition. Mute Poem (for entangled reading) was publicly presented for the first time on June 23 2021, at the symposium "En lisant, en dansant. Formes et pratiques de la lecture en danse (enseignement, création et représentation)", institut national d'histoire de l'art / INHA, paris.
